Intro
From firmware v2.03 for the LanBox-LCX, LCE and LCM, you have the option to choose from three DMX output "flavors". While DMX-512 USITT 1990 is a well defined standard, we where forced to generate three flavors DMX, so that as many as possible "DMX" fixtures and dimmers will work with our controllers. This incompatibility happens with some low cost "DMX" fixtures which simply can not keep up with the speed of DMX, see discussions.

DMX problems
So if you have problems with fixtures or dimmers which can not keep up with the DMX-512 speed (every DMX-512 USITT 1990 receiver should be able to handle it), v2.03 firmware offers the option to reduce the DMX speed. Note that slow DMX has a negative influence on performance and produces more jitter in the DMX packets.

Set DMX speed
You select one of the three flavors by setting the number of output channels in the global settings (DMX tab) to a certain value (default it's 512).
  • When it's set to 512 (501-512), the DMX output has the highest performance (conform to DMX-512 USITT 1990).
  • When it's set to 500 (251-500), DMX has a slow timing.
  • When it's set to 250 (32-250), DMX has a very slow timing.

Timing pictures
On the pictures below you see the timing from fast to slow (top to bottom), for LCM/LCE (left pictures) and LCX (right pictures).
