In the normal course of events I'll sit down and do a lighting plan on paper. This time I'm doing it on screen in LCedit! Now as I build my rig each lantern is automatically assigned a channel. That channel will not correspond to the outlet into which the lantern is plugged. So I need to patch it. This appears to be a case of double clicking the lantern and selecting the patch tab. After that I'm a bit lost. Let's assume that when I physically do the rigging this lantern will be plugged into channel 40. Do I then tell the base channel that it is now 40 and not 5, or whatever it happens to be? (We're only dealing with simple generic lanterns here, they just shine so there are no issues about shutters and colour.) Thanks in advance.
