No, not directly. You can control the transparency of a layer which 
gives you manual crossfade between two or more layers.

Setup:

Layer A Transparent mixing
Layer B normal mixing

With the transparency control you can fade between the A and B layer, 
just as an old A/B desk ;-)

Be aware that 16 bit fades are not possible this way.
