Subject[LCtalk] LCX output and clock questions

Hello lanbox-forum users,
i have poured over the manual but could not get a handle on what cues and settings to used to do the following:

- set the time and start the clock running(lcx will not be connected to a network)
- send an output (5 volt) on the sub-d connector at certain time according to the clock. Which pins should be used? how are they addressed within LCedit+?

I have created a "clock fixture" on my stage, and (randomly)set the day, time, hour, second, frame, F/S fields, and recorded a "show scene" but that doesnt seem to be the proper command.

I am using the lCX to control a vari-lite 3000s for an outdoor installation, so the equipment will not be easily accessible one the piece is running. I plan to use the LCX for the following daily looping actions:

1.) send 5 volt output on sub-d connector at 18:50 (to trigger a relay, powering up the vari-lite)

2.) Strike lamp at 19:00
wait 10 secs

3.) focus, pan, tilt, zoom, gobo command,
wait 5 secs

4.) open dowser/shutter

5.) hold until 6:00

6.) send 5 volt output at 6:10 (to turn off relay)

in addition I would also like to have the lcx setup for the worst case scenario: power loss to the lanbox and loosing the time clock settings. Could I make a cue that would set the clock at a certain time be the default startup cue. That way if i have the clock time to be set at 10h00, i know that it I power the lcx at 9:59 it will be approximately on time. I think that would required me to have that command be in a top layer and have the daily routine in a lower layer.

any help and pointer mucho appreciated!

(its only my second time writing cues, so i'm a bit overwhelmed with even some of the basics, for example, what's the difference between: show scene forever or hold for ever)

Cheers,
jean
