I use a similar setup all the time with a Mac Mini. Each network must have a
different address. My WIFI setup utilizes the default 192.168.1.x with DHCP
because that is connected to a larger network and the internet. But I have
the Ethernet port (direct connection to the lanbox) set for 192.168.2.x.
That way, each network has its own address range. The key is the third
number, one network is 1, the other is 2. The "x" part of the address is
typically setup as the subnet as defined by a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
(typical default). Be sure you change your lanbox to 192.168.2.77 before you
change your computer (or use the USB port). Also, you'll have to change
LCEdit to look for the new lanbox address. In summary, three things to
change: lanbox, computer, LCEdit.
I also find that it is best to have the Ethernet port as the first choice as
defined by the order of the connections in the Network settings (in System
Preferences). On occasion, I'll get a message from Safari that it can't
connect but a few seconds later (when it tries the other network
automatically) it works fine.
Enjoy,
