Yes, I did. I made a 4 channel fixture, and placed it on the stage. I 
duplicated the fixture, then made a group of both. The result is 
fixture1 having a patch like this: ch 1 dmx 1,5 ch 2 dmx 2,6 etc.....; 
fixture 2 having a patch like this: ch 5 dmx (empty) etc etc.

I probably should have done this otherwise?
