Dear List, Does a Lanbox LCX have all the required hardware to be used as a DMX diagnostics tester? Here are a few tests that would be usualy seen in a tester. (Posibly built into LC Edit + or a stand alone program.)
Display Channel Function View any dimmer's level from 1 to 512 Three level display modes Percent (0 to FL) Decimal (0 to 255) Hexadecimal (00 to FF) Full 8-bit resolution for decimal and hexadecimal display modes
Displays dimmer number of dimmer that is tracking up or down Holds last dimmer number shown for 2 seconds Barchart mode shows levels of all 512.
Transmits test level to single selected dimmer, to one groups or to all dimmers simultaneously Quickly scrolls through all 512 dimmers Test level can be raised or lowered to any desired value
Displays the number of dimmers being transmitted by the console Test function for data format
Calculates the speed at which console is transmitting new dimmer levels to the stage Display is in updates per second
Performs cable test function using actual DMX data from console Allows test to be performed while data cables are installed and/or during show Displays accumulated total of errors received Analog and digital cable test. Any easy DMX output editor Up to 10 fixtures with a maximum of 36 channels each available for editing and quick-testing. Test-function for DMX-512 and MIDI. This would make the Lanbox even more valuable for those who one one already. Kyle Olson
