Hi Blair,
thanks for the great suggestion and layout, I am applying your findings
in Logic Audio, which works really well.
there is one thing I am struggling with
how to get rid of "Note Offs", because with addressing lights they are
really counterproductive, or rather I want to be able to keep them "On"
and change intensity etc over time by updating an existing note rather
then striking a new one.
I am using this for a strobe piece, so repeatedly sending Note On's for
every change in frequency or similar just means tons of fiddling to
prevent hick ups.
So to make this smooth, two things are needed, getting rid of Note Off's
and then translating Velocity into any other CC, which would allow
drawing automation curves and voila a fully graphical interface.
anyway, I tried doing this in Logic and just can't get rid of the Note
Off's., or even If I think I do, the lights still switch off once a note
ends. Haven't worked with Midi and the Logic Environment in 2 years, so
thats part of the issue...
are you re-triggering notes every time you are changing parameters?
thanks
Kurt
