The lanbox has 8 analog inputs.
So I take a simple 47kOhm fader and connect it as described in the
manual. Moving the fader will change the value on input 1. This can
be seen on the input monitor. Again: i am NOT talking about a dmx

So, how can I use this input value to do something usefull. For example:
Change the intensity of a light or group or...
OK, well besides using the analog inputs for triggers:
Go .xx if input n is within 0-512
It can also be used directly as DMX values, since firmware v2.09:
LCX only: Analog channels 1-8 are now also visible as light channels
3061-3068, but scaled to 8 bit. We choose the high channel numbers in
order to prevent conflicts with current cues. You can map the
channels to any DMX address you want, and when using a curve you have
a 256 step lookup table.
