Now I wonder about the cuelists. When I have erased the LanBox and opened my project, I thought the old cuelists where ready.

Well, if you erase your LanBox you get a big warning, but when you really want to do that, all cues are gone. It's as the word "Erase" states; let it disappear ;-)

But they appear only after restoring from the backup. Is the backup file only possibility to keep them safe? In the tutorial it is said "you can also backup", but not that it is a must.

Normally you do a "Save LanBox Data" in LCedit+, and your cues are saved in the box. For just in case, you can make backups on your computer (and you make for sure backups of your computer; right?). As long as you do not erase the box, it's save.
