A backup is an extra safety (as you backup your computer), normally all cues are saved in the box after "Save LanBox Data". When editing cues, you get a dialog not to forget "Save LanBox Data", so you can pick a convenient time to do the save (it takes some time to do the save).

The edited cuelists -before- saving lanboxdata are still in the box as long as there is power on the lanbox, right? So, shutting down the computer (or putting it to sleep) without saving lanbox data should cause no problem? (but of course it is alway wise to do a quick 'command-shift-S')

A feature I have often asked for is a 'deep save' that saves the project file, cues, layers and everything else required to save the current LanBox state. I believe this would be a major bonus. For one thing it would enable someone to send a preconfigured LanBox image to someone else to put on their LanBox.

I would guess that the majority of the info/code required to do this is already there. The backup routine already saves the cues and mappings. Combine these into a zip file as part of the save together with the info required to recreate the layers and the LCP info and you are done (assuming a symetric load is also created)!

For example - I have a LanBox setup here that demonstrates the DMX corruption bug in under 10 clicks but cannot send it to Fokko for testing as no platform independent way to save it 'as-is'. (I don't have access to a Mac :( )
