Is there a way to turn off the DMX output from within the LanBox (I don't want to have to unplug the DMX cable to get control at the wall button stations)?

No, other then removing the firmware, or disconnecting from the power. Why not feeding the DMX out of the wall station into the DMX input of the LanBox-LCX, and use the LCX as pass-through or merge box?
