Kyle,
Little bit of column A, little bit of column B.
The main advantage of using a wiimote is the wireless control of cues within a show. While my computer remains tied up to AC and dmx lines, I am free to grab a beer and advance a cue while standing at the bar, etc. I've mapped various hot keys from LCedit to the buttons on the wiimote, including a few beam and color presets and of course the "next cue/previous cue" commands. This is more for playback of a show, but it does come in handy when you need to focus or program a cue from various presets.

The wiimote can be setup for show control by using a program called Darwiin Remote (Mac) or Glovepie (PC). You must have a bluetooth capable computer, as this is how it connects. Just go into preferences and assign modifiers and keys to the various buttons (this depends on how you set up your Hotkeys in the Keystroke editor of LCedit+).
Have fun!
