Well, if I run here at the same time LCedit+, I can see the layer 
mode changing to transparent, when I send MIDI controller 71 with 
value 4 (BTW 5 is add mode). With controller 99 I can change the 
transparency from 0-100%.

Sure you are sending it to the right MIDI channel, and is your MIDI 
mapping set to the right layer?
