Subject[LCtalk] Simple practical session?

I am very interested to read that a number of people have given up on the Lanbox because some of the LcEdit basics seem too high a hurdle to jump over. As I stated in previous posts, I have used my Lanbox for really simple shows and also some very complex ones. I have always had the highest level of satisfaction with both the setting up and execution of the shows.

Would it be helpful to put together a very simple case study with, say, 10 fixtures and then programme some simple cues so that the end to end process can be seen? Let me know, I would be happy to set something up. I promise you that once these basics become second nature, you will find that the Lanbox is a formidable tool.

I don't find any lighting desk (Strand, Jands, Zero 88 etc.) intuitive when you first start to use it. Even though I know the Strand 5XX really well, I still have to refer to the manual every time I configure scrollers so that the move while dark feature works. Remembering that colour is attribute 2 and then the patching command syntax is far more complex than most of the things that Lanbox does!!

Best,
John
