You could use a midi controller like the padKontrol from KORG that I have myself. That could be used as a trigger. You could use any other midi device but the padKontrol is a affordable piece of hardware with good quality.

You then should have a program that set the channel NoteOn and NoteOff or another MidiMessage in a CommandMessage to the Lanbox. But I don't know of a program that does that. Or the LcEdit+ should have it but I am not aware of it.

I could make one for you that uses TCP/IP. But I could not do that today but I can make it. It would trigger cue's on NoteOn and NoteOff messages.
