I think the Lanbox is a terrific device, but I'm a bit puzzled by the 788-LD+ because it seems unexceptional. Am I missing something? I consider ETC to be a premium brand and I can get the ETC SmartPack dimmers in a 12 x 10A configuration for under $1500 and a 6 x 20A configuration for just over $1000. At 320 Euro, the 788-LD+ comes out to $453.248 according to Google today. I have nothing agains CDS since I'm really impressed by the capabilities of the Lanbox and the responsiveness of this mailing list, but I can't see why I'd pay more for a CDS dimmer than for an ETC dimmer. Depending on where in the world you are, the exchange rate with the Euro will impact prices, but for me in the US I can get a dozen 10A channels from ETC for almost exactly the same price of a dozen 5A channels from CDS. As a theatre guy I consider a 10A dimmer to be very small. A 10A dimmer is 1.2KW. At my theatre the small dimmers are 2.4KW and the large dimmers are 6KW. I can only plug three lekos or two PARs into a 2.4KW dimmer so I much prefer the 6KW dimmers. I just don't see much use for a 5A dimmer.
