The reason we did this development was to be able to use automation curves in audio software to show a graphic representation of lighting fader levels at any given time during our audio program. Following our experience developing this solution, I am forced to wonder why you are so reluctant to implement direct midi to DMX translation in LCedit and the lanbox firmware. ??? Actually LanBox was one of the first products in the world with direct MIDI to DMX translation! Every Note can be used to set directly a DMX value, where the Note pitch is used as DMX channel (with optional offset), and the velocity multiplied by 2 is used as DMX value. We have many customers using this indeed for not too many channels, you did not know this feature? Controlling LCedit+ via MIDI is a different story, it's on the wish list, but it has nothing to to with direct MIDI to DMX translation. Even DMX can be more or less "translated" to MIDI when you create a control cue which uses "write xxx to midi" actions.
