[LCtalk] Using the keypad keys

Hello List,
I found an old topic in the archives concerning the use of keypad keys 
on an apple.
e.g. assigning the k or l key to * or /

Is there any news on this topic, has anyone found a way of doing this, 
or is it not yet possible?
