The only thing I did not find is how to create a layer with a layer ID, and to keep it locked from autodeleting. Is this possible?

Only via external commands (like LCedit+ does it).

So, it actually happened last week that "some nitwit" resetted the Lanbox.
Of course I had a backup, but I found out that the layer-setup was not in that backup (or anywhere else).
That on itself was annoying, but not really the biggest problem.
I noticed that certain macros I made were wrong too!

We are investigating on how to create layer backups, and how we can conserve macros when layers are made again.

We do have a perl utility LcFlashDump which creates an image firmware file of a total running system. This means that uploading this file restores a LanBox completely as it was, including layers etc.

LcFlashDump is made to run on OSX machines only, but if you know how to do things in Perl, it should be possible to use this on other platforms as well.

LcFlashDump can be downloaded from http://www.lanbox.com/downloads/downloads.html#other
