Hi,

Two things to try:

- when not using DHCP, give your Macbook an IP adress in the same range 
as the LanBox (like: 192.168.1.33) and the same subnetmask.
- not sure if this is necessary with the Macbook's UTP port but for a 
direct connection without a switch or hub you should use a crossed UTP 
cable (which most probably still comes with the LCX)
