Fokko,

Thanks for your ideas.  I ended up testing the LanBox using the TCP 
connection via a wireless router.  It works great, and having 
wireless is an added bonus.  The less plugged into my computer, the 
better.

Staples (US office supply store) had a deal on netgear wireless-g 
routers for $20, so it's my new LanBox remote router!
