I've been using a new LanBox LCX for a few weeks now and am having a problem hopefully someone on this list can help solve. I'm on a MacBook Pro 17" Intel Core Duo (OS X 10.4.8), LanBox LCX connected via USB with latest firmware and LCEdit+ version. With my beginner's knowledge of LCEdit, I've figured out how to setup a stage with the fixtures, everything is addressed, and I keep multiple control windows open for each fixture. I can interact with the fixtures (color, position, gobo, intensity, etc) and have saved fixture presets. At this point, I've only experimented with cuelists. I'm just using fixture presets and manual movement via mouse to control the following Chauvet Q-Spot 250 (x2), Chauvet PAR196 LED (x8, via LED-BOSS controller), Chauvet MegaStrobe DMX. The problem is, that every few minutes (anywhere from 3-10 minutes, it seems), I lose the connection with the LanBox LCX. The status indicators in LCEdit changes from green to orange. (it seems to flash green before going to solid orange) At this point, I lose control of the fixtures and the remain in position. Sometimes I am able to go to the menu and "reconnect fixtures" and it will start working again. Other times, I get an error message: "Unable to establish Serial (usbmodem0000207D1) connection to "LanBox USB". (Abort) (Configure) (Retry)" ...at which point I can select "Configure" and re-connect. Once the connection to the LanBox is re-established, I have to reassign my fixture Control Panel windows to the appropriate fixtures, as they are flashing "N O L A Y E R S E L E C T E D". This takes even more time, all the while my fixtures are frozen on stage. Sometimes, I get the swirling rainbow and the application freezes, eventually requiring a force-quit. I usually have to unplug the USB cable in order to successfully restart LCEdit and reconnect to the LanBox. It appears that the "usbmodem0000207D1" address keeps changing to different strings after "usbmodem....." Just to rule out some things: This happens even when the LanBox is my only connected peripheral. There seems to be no consistency with actions on my part causing a disconnect, regardless of other programs running or not, whether I've been interacting with fixtures or not. What's going on here? Am I missing something obvious? Help, please. I've got some other questions regarding the LanBox and LCEdit, but this issue is affecting my ability to even use the device at this point, so all other questions are irrelevant.
