The interface is decent but needs polishing in order to be easier, more intuitive and faster to learn. These are just a few observations off the top of my head. NOT a list of complaints, just just a list of reasons why I feel a more refined intuitive interface would help the product sell more and put more money in Fokko & the company pocket (which they definitely deserve).

1. I can't get the windows to scroll up & down with a mouse wheel. To me that's an unfinished interface. Also, many programs use a key in conjunction with the scroll wheel to scroll left to right, and given the size the cuelists get get with scenes and fixtures, those are needed. However the "reduce to cuelist to used channels" button is a great step in the right direction.

2. Right click mouse capability is almost non-existent (none in the stage window) -- which is common to most any software interface. Because of that it, takes a lot more clicking around to get things done.

3. Most windows in Lcedit remember where you've put them & their size. Some do not. Cuelist windows are great, but the library window and the step edit windows forget location &/or size. For example, if you've pulled cuelist windows to an additional LCD screen its frustrating that the cuelist step edit window always pops up one screen away. Or if you're building or editing your fixture library, the library window always pops up in the same place is is very small for how long the list is (and of course you can't scroll it with the mouse wheel, you have to manually click and drag the scroll bar).

4. The height of cue edit windows can be reduced completely, but not the width (because it was designed to display all tools all the time). Because of that, its harder to view multiple cuelists side by side when viewing multiple layers via the follow layer function. I was doing that a lot when determining layering and logic flow of the programming I was doing.

5. There are no keyboard shortcuts for following & editing cuelists, once again you have to do a lot of mousing around to get very common tasks done.

6. A timeline would be extremely useful for time based lighting which I assume many lighting designers need. The spreadsheet interface is great for putting scenes together, but a timeline is priceless for assigning the timing of lighting changes quickly throughout a song. Many live shows follow a click track, or even have extra backing tracks and a timeline based method of automation for the lights would be fantastic. All music and all video programs employ a timeline. We're putting lights to that music and video media so why not have a timeline too?

Thanks for reading the long ramble. I'll send any further interface feedback to Fokko directly.
