Dear Mr Rob, Before I answer your questions and remarks, I must say that it is a bit odd to blame us for a wrong decision which you made yourself. We offer all possibilities to try our software unlimited and without cost, so you should have known whether our product is suitable for you or not. To say it's useless and lousy afterwards, is not really helpful, and it certainly not does not provide useful information for other subscribers of this. At 16:54 +0100 28-01-2007, Rob wrote: You're absolutely right, the manuals are lousy. It took me a day to run my LCE, the IP adress is in one of the manuals, while the needed password is in a tutorial.
Note: If you want to connect via TCP/IP (LanBox-LCX, LCE), the default IP is 192.168.1.77 (mask is 255.255.255.0) so your computer should be set to any other IP in the 192.168.1.xx range. Then it took me a day to get my moving head going, as I had to define the fixture definition myself. Same thing, manual only tells you half the work. I found out you had to add 1 for every parameter. Why?
Note: For channel numbers we use offset, so the first channel of the DMX table is zero, not one. Or did I miss a screen where I can check the output in one look? It's possible that it's hidden in one of the many manuals, but I didn't find it.
The view menu has the following options: * Set the icon size to small instead of normal. * Hide icon (label is shown). * Hide label (icon is shown). * Show the intensity, position, color, whatever is appropriate for the fixture. Besides the view indicators on the stage, you can also see the Intensity values of all your fixtures if you create a group(s) of your fixtures (only if your screen is large enough to show all channels). Furthermore you can open multiple DMX monitors, but we consider it not useful for normal use. BTW As the tutorial does not say too much about your actual hardware (LanBox-LCX, LCM, LCE), I advice you also to read the LanBox_user_manual.pdf Regards, -- Fokko van Duin, CDS advanced technology bv, http://www.lanbox.com/
