Thanks. It turns out that I had the "don't allow exceptions" checked, in 
the fire wall settings, although I had set port 4777 previously. Once 
that was set I went into the universe tab of capture 3.0 and set the 
provider in the first universe to the lanbox. Finally I can actually use 
all the screen space I have. Thanks again for all your help.
