I have this problem with Logic as well (for a long time...). Today I 
found this on the lug list:

I normally use Logic with a Digi002r.  However, for a recent project I 
rented an RME Fireface.  After installing, I kept getting the message 
"Error while trying to Synchronize Audio and Midi".  I did all the usual 
things (buffer size, etc.) but nothing was working.  I then came across 
a sugestion on the LUG that said something about deleting your 
preferences (user > library > preferences > etc.).

Also make sure your sample rates are set the same for the Logic and any 
other digital gear you have.


I have not yet tried this yet myself. Let us know if it works.
