I am not sure what you want to achieve, but as the cue and chase are 
on the same channels, you need a layer who's transparency changes in 
time, e.g.

Layer B runs your cue, layer A is going like:

  set layer A to mix transparent from 0% to 90% in 39s

Best is to make a control cue, which organizes the start of cue + 
chaser, and set layer A to do the transparent fading.
