We've got our Lanbox LCX up and running and I gotta say that I'm quite impressed. It's doing everything we've asked it to and the LD hasn't even scratched the surface.

I was quite impressed that the new s/ware release still runs pre OSX and I actually used my dusty old 7600 to light a "costume parade". It even opened up the OSX file which I didn't expect. It saved me moving a G4 around and I had the 7600 in the right spot setup as a CD burning station. All I had to do was run an ethernet cable. And after the 2nd unsuccessful attempt, a xover adapter. I forgot that older Macs don't automatically switch that.

I was concerned about memory but the LD has only used 12% of it. And I've learned how to program it. I never could get the hang of our Lightboard M but the LCedit app made sense to me. My LD however kept saying he didn't like it and kept referring to how you'd do it in a Whole Hog. But I always found a way for him to do what he wanted. And he managed to program 2 shows without really learning how to use the app.

He has it down to 3 layers. The top layer is the main engine for the lights. The 2nd layer is for the scrollers and he's set that to non- fade. The 3rd layer is used for chases. The cuelist is being triggered by midi and the scrollers and chase cues are inbedded in the cuelists with zero hold times. So that I'll fire cue 12.1 and it will jump to 12.3 because 12.1 and 12.2 fire the scrollers and chase with zero hold and 12.3 has the fixture levels. I'm not convinced that it's the best way to do it but it seems to work.

Again, a very nice product and I'm spreading the word.
