Reconnecting it to my network failed again, so I tried to deduct the troubling component, and it seems my wireless access router (D-LINK) is the cause? Yes, me too. It could be very complicated, but I am also very curious what is causing this. In order to exclude some possible ethernet switch oddities; please turn off any UDP broadcasting. If you have a Mac or PC connected to the USB port as well, you can do some diagnostics with a terminal program (zTerm on OSX, or Hyperterm on XP). Connect via the terminal program with the box via USB and type #*b7# <enter>. You should see ok. Now type mon" ping 192.168.1.1 <enter>. You should see answers like: sent # 1 , PING receipt # 1 : response time 0.62 ms sent # 2 , PING receipt # 2 : response time 2.12 ms sent # 3 , PING receipt # 3 : response time 2.04 ms sent # 4 , PING receipt # 4 : response time 2.43 ms Sent : 4 Received : 4 Success : 100 Average RTT : 1.80 ms ok Note: Be sure you type *b7#<enter> before disconnecting the USB terminal connection, else you can't connect it with LCedit+ If your gateway (the D-link) is on another address then 192.168.1.1 use the D-link address. If you got no response, try to place a simple hub between the D-link and the LCX. For more tests I need to know the D-link type number, and your exact setup, inluding IPs, switches, etc. If someone on the list has experience with D-link routers please let us know. We are using here Zyxel routers/modems, and have never had any problems. -- Fokko van Duin, CDS advanced technology bv, http://www.lanbox.com/
