In a similar vein to the previous post about sensors triggering cues, I am looking to wire up a couple of buttons to the interface port to act as 'go next cue' (replicate spacebar) and 'go previous cue' for show operation. I can then leave the LANbox to run a show without needing a laptop at the venue.

Carl Holzmann emailed me a circuit diagram of a 37 pole connector with 8 switches for a LCX. You can download it from http://www.lanbox.com/downloads/downloads.html#other

Thanks Carl!

I can do the wiring as outlined in Fokko's previous post, but what do I need to do in the software to make this happen (if it is possible)?

Yes, but only for next/pre step (not cue). There are many solutions, but below is just one:

// Cuelist 150 (11 steps), stored 18-04-2006 14:05 001: hold for 0.05s go 003 if input 1 within 512 - max // jump if switch 1 is not closed go next in layer A 002: hold for 0.05s go 002 if input 1 within 0 - 512 // wait until switch 1 is released -- 003: go 001 if input 2 within 512 - max // jump if switch 2 is not closed go prev in layer A 004: hold for 0.05s go 004 if input 2 within 0 - 512 // wait until switch 2 is released go 001

Run this control cue in any layer other then A, and the switches (buttons) will do nex/prev any cue running in layer A.
