I should be getting my Lanbox today but won't be able to use it until Monday. My LD can get his hands on a Precept lightboard and I'm hoping to speed up programming with this.

Hmm, I think it's much faster programming in LCedit+, but I am biased :-)

I'm not sure how that works. I assume that you run the DMX line from the board to the Lanbox. From there I have to go to a Gray DMX - AMX converter for my main CD80 dimmers.

That is correct for a LanBox-LCX.

So from there, I'd set a scene up on the Precept. How do I store that and assign it on the Lanbox?

You must first create a setup in LCedit+ for your dimmer channels, and make a group which should be controlled by DMX input (the lightboard).

In LCedit+, Global settings, set DMX input 1-50 to layer A 1-50 (assuming you are using less then 50 channels). Now select the board group, and type v then alt enter in order to activate those channels. From now on all 50 channels are controlled from the board.

And once it's there, can I edit it using the LCedit app from my Mac? I assume that LCedit will store and retrieve cues from the Lanbox.

You do editing in LCedit as usual, but all channel values are set by the board.
