I have a Contour Shuttle Pro and it's handy, but it's still just a keyboard emulator even though the jog-shuttle dial is clever. Is anyone using any hardware (MIDI or other) to give more "hands on" control of programming LCEdit? Is LCEdit capable of being manipulated by MIDI or is it just the Lanbox that can handle MIDI? I'm really pleased with the Lanbox. I had a lot of trouble following the tutorial with the demo Lanbox over the Internet and I had serious reservations about getting one. However, once we got one in our theatre I've been really pleased with what we've been able to do with it. However, it sure would be nice to have one or two dozen knobs or faders to directly adjust levels during the process of programming cues. Mouse and keyboard can seem pretty slow when a director and cast are waiting on the LD to tweak some levels. Unfortunately my budget is tiny. I'm wondering whether there would be any benefit at all to buying something like a Behringer BCR2000 or BCF2000 of Evolution UC33e. These devices are in the $100-300 range but I don't want to throw money away on something that won't be useful.
