Subject[LCtalk] Going to use te Lanbox again for next project

Hi Fokko, list

I'm going to use my box again in the next project I'm working on, can't wait to dive in again.

Still a couple of things on my want-list though:

1. Fading back and forth and resetting:
Fokko, you promised to implement some kind of "softfade" back-forward feature last year, remember?

To remind you: a small flashback to february last year:

Dennis: And some general 'theatre minded" comments.
- I miss a reset button/keycommand (as in: reset all channels to active cue values, or (better still) per channel in the layer fadetime). I'm currently using the go button for this, but if you got some long fadetimes it gets kind of annoying.

Fokko: I am not sure what you mean, but if you type v alt-<enter> you set the selection of a layer to the current mixer values.

Dennis: That's not what I mean. Let me give an example: I'm in cue 666.5, which has a fade time of 30 seconds I think the light is to bright on a perticular spot on the stage , so I adjust some percentages. Later on in the scene I realize that that light was there for a reason, so I want to reset it to the stored value. On a spark or photon I press reset, and that's that, the lights fade in again, in the lanbox I press go, 666.5 fades in in 30 seconds and the scene is already over. Or I disable fades, and it goes back on in 0 seconds which is a bit crude. Do you understand my question now ?.

Dennis: - Same for previous cue (in layer fadetime).

Fokko: Previous Cue key is on PC ctrl-alt-minus on Mac cmd-alt-minus. You can assign e.g. a function key for this.

Dennis: I'd like it to go back one step in the fade time selected in the command window. See above

and further up:

Fokko: We do not have a reset cue, as it will lead to next question; what fade speed? If you set manual fade speed to e.g. 2sec, the +/- correction is also softened.
Dennis: Maybe next to the 'disable fades', a 'fade layer in manual fade speed' button ? (I keep trying)

Fokko: There -is-, but it's for manual, not for reload. I have put it on the wish list, and see what we can do as it sounds reasonable (even for a non-theatre man).

Is there any progress on this issue?

2. Keymaps:
Still like to be able to access channels and groups in the CLI via the keys surrounding the numeric keypad on an extended keyboard, to make blind programming whilst watching the (real live) stage possible.
I've noticed that the / and * keys aren't used for anything in LCEdit , so I thought it would be great to make them into l and k keys. As I don't want to spend $79.95 on Quickeys just to change 2 keys, I've search around on the web and found this great little utility to create keymaps for free:

http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&item_id=ukelele

Ukelele works great in all applications i've tested, only to my disappointment not with LCedit. Could you please tell me why?
Would it be possible to change LCEdit so that it will work?
I think many people on this list would really appreciate a fully customizable keyboard, not?

Hope you can help me on this one

By the way: great that your working with Mark on Isadora now, can't wait what new possibilities this will create!

Keep up the good work,
Grtz
Dennis
