Subject[LCtalk] Making channels 'snap'

I have some fixtures with a strobe setting (DMX channel) but when I fade them in, I want them to fade in strobing at a set speed. I know I could set the strobe speed in the previous cue then when I run the next cue the speed will not alter but is there a way to force a channel ALWAYS to use a 0 fade time irrespective of the overall cue fade time?

I have a similar issue with a colour changer. I want the unit to pick it's colour instantly without waiting for the cue to fade in.

I guess the other alternative is to create a 2 step cue each time, first one sets the strobe/colour in 0s then the second fades up the lights but I want to do it in one cue (fussy I know).

Cheers,

Geof.
