Hi all,

I'm new here I just got my lcx a few weeks ago and I'm still learning about it. I work mostly on movies in NYC, TV shows and the occasional commercial, but mostly movies. I've bee reading as many as the archived messages as I can to catch up.

Welcome to the list.

I'd like to take a DMX in (from an ETC Expression) and pass all the values through except for 48 channels I'd like to control using LC Edit and my LCX. I would make sure that the 48 channels I want to control are in no cues, groups or anywhere in the expression.

To simplify my objective I have 2 sets in 2 places with 2 control boards (1 etc expression, 1 lanbox), but I have only 1 dimmer rack (96 x 2.4K rack). I can run the whole rack from either controller but the sets are in 2 separate spaces and we will have 2 dimmer board operators, 1 for each set.

I am not sure if I understand your setup correctly, but let me explain some possibilities.

The LCX has a DMX input from which you can merge/replace a range of channels (say ch 50-100) with the LanBox light channels. You need to place fixtures on the stage which are corresponding with your ETC setup, and create 1 cue with all those channels in it, set to 0.

If you load this ETC cue e.g in layer A, and you have DMX input mapped to layer A, the ETC channels will passed to the LanBox DMX output. All other channels of the box can be used in lower layers; the ETC channels override the box channels, as ETC is in the top layer.

If you set layer A in HTP mode, the output will be the highest values of ETC or LanBox for a given channel. If you drag layer e.g. layer B above layer A, cues running in layer B can override the ETC channels.

BTW One LanBox-LCX can be controlled with multiple computers running LCedit+, if the box and computers are on Ethernet.
