Okay, I just can't seem to do it. Whenever I tell the applescript to 
run, the cmd light flashes for about 30 seconds and nothing happens. I 
think I need a specific example of how exactly to pass commands to the 
lanbox through the applescript.

The updated (that will take decimal numbers) Perl Script is named 
cmdwrite.pl and it is on my desktop.

My USB Serial adapter's name is KeySerial1

I would like the lanbox to go to Layer A, Cuelist 10 Cuestep 1

What would the finished command look like?
