When you are gonna do a new LCEdit checkout VISTA they got a timeline thats realy great.

Remember LCedit+ is just a human interface of the boxes. Implementing time driven layers in the LanBoxes means we need clocks (SMPTE, MTC, real, network, relative, etc) and a system for event lists. Anyway it's not something we can implement quickly.

I think that implementing timeline is only useful once you can use the box as a standalone multimedia show controller (without PC/Mac), but at this moment not all media can be controlled directly from the box.

Many people use e.g. Performer, Logic, or even Isadora as control software and using MIDI to sync lighting cues. This can be done very easy if you use the MSC "Go" message, as it can be inserted as one message into a audio/MIDI/video track.

If I am not mistaken Jon Daggett made some extensions for Performer in order to make recalling lighting cues even easier.

So the big question for me is, what do you want to achieve with a LanBox which has built-in timeline/events system?

How about real-time video to RGB matrix?

Or do just need simpler ways to sync your cues with audio/video files?

I am open for any suggestions,
