Hello Fokko thanks for the reply,

The reason why I  want to use two layers on indepedent channels (although 
I'm not necessarily using the same light channels) is that I have some 
specialist lights (which give a multiple light beam effect, a bit like a 
laser effect) which I want to use while the normal light show is running (so 
they are a completely independent lighting effect that use 4 channels that I 
need to program via cues and chases). Therefore I want to run it 
independently of the other cues and chases that are running in the 
background.

Any views or comments on this ?
