Ah, if that's the case, the you are correct... That is a good option.

Only problem with those is they need to be pointed directly at the receiver 
and somewhat limited range.

Might want to consider an RF remote instead, since you don't have to point 
it in a particular direction and generally have better range as well.  There 
are a couple of very small (easy to hide in your hand) units out there.

I can look it up if anyone is interested.  I believe Honeywell makes one 
that isn't too expensive and is very small.
