Non all I want to do is to have actors send GO signals as discreetly as possible while on stage. So ideally they will be manipulating a remote control that is definitely no bigger than a TV remote control. I thought perhaps there would be some kind of IR receiver that you could hook up to a make just to relay teh GO signal.

Well, how about a small pushbutton? It can be connected to the serial input of the LC and use:
hold until switch is negative

Note: only for the LanBox-LC.

If you have a LCX, you can use tap, bend or other sensors to activate a Go. I bought e.g a small bend sensor which can be taped to my finger; bend = Go :-)
