Hi

Would anybody be able to give me some pointers for establishing a system that enables some sort of remote control to send a "GO" signal to a Mac and hence to a Lanbox?

Sending a Go directly to the box is most of the time a better solution, so I assume that situation.

At the moment my setup is

Powerbook 520 running under system 7, LCedit II v1.3.3 running on a lanbox LC

Depending of your definition of "remote", you can use an older Palm device with serial (modem) cable and use LCedit for Palm, as the LC serial port is unused in above setup.

Alternative, add the LC MIDI adapter and use a programmable MIDI commander.

Wireless alternative: Add an iPrint-LT to your LanBox-LC and connect the Ethernet to an Apple Airport Express. You can now use your Powerbook wireless to control the box via EtherTalk (AppleTalk).

but I could also set up a

Powerbook G4 running under OS X 10.3.7, LCEdit + still running on a lanbox LC

Unfortunately the Powerbook doesn't have Bluetooth but it does have an airport card.

With a LanBox-LCX or LCE you could use a Palm Tungsten-C which has built-in WIFI, but it's TCP/IP only.

Do you want a wireless remote control device, or e.g. using your PowerBook to control the box wireless?
