Subject[LCtalk] scenes in memory, compose them from control cue

Hi

I'm using the lcm for theatre lighning. Until now I always created simple cuesteps, one after the other with all the channels (max 24) active with the correct dmx value. I just run this in 1 layer, and this works perfectly.

The problem is that it isn't very flexible. When one cuestep has to change, I manualy have to change all the others that were actualy the same...

So now I would like to do it differently. I thought I could make several cues (or cuesteps), one for each "part" of the scene. So I create cue 200.1 with some chanels active for some part of the scene, cue 201.1 with some other chanels etc.

Then I would like to compose a complete show with some control cues, where I call the existing cues to create complete scenes, set the timings and perhaps also the overal intensities.

I can make this work if I create all the possible cue's in my show (with all chanels active, also the 0-ones) and then just simply call them with "show 201.1 for ever, crossfade for 3.0s" etc. But it would be nice if I could

- compose different existing cues (without all the chanels on active) to one scene
- set the intensities of all the different existing cues
- ...

Is this possible? I suppose so, but I can't seem to figure it out. Could someone give a simple example?

Suppose 200.1 contains channel 1=255 and 201.1 contains channel 2=255. All the other chanels are not active (or 0 if that is easier).

Now I want some scenes in a control cue (so I can run the complete theatre show with the space-bar) like

- blackout
- crossfade to 200.1 in 3s
- crossfade to 200.1 and 201.1 in 3s (so the result is chanel 1 and chanel 2 are on, a "composed scene")
- crossfade to 200.1 and 201.1 in 3s, but with 200.1 at 70% (so the result is that chanel 1 is dimmed to 70%)
- crossfade to blackout in 3s
- ...

Any tips?

thanks in advance,
Jan
