Hi, i can't control the lanbox from MAX. First I updated the firmware. Then I tried to configure the box (LCX), but neither the tutorial (chapter 8) nor the LCeditPlus_reference.pdf (page 13) explained the basic idea (only how to connect two lanboxes for universe-use. I couldn't find any information about the main concept, how and where those values from UDP are integrated. i.e. what's exaclty "of mixer" and how does "of layer" work?). I guess all the settings I need to adjust are located in the Global Settings -> UDP Tab. In my case, the lower part is the area of interest, entitled "UDP input settings". At first I tried the following settings: from sender: anyone:4777 copy light channels: 1-24 to light channels: 1-24 of layer: A I then moved layer A to the top and activated some channels in this range, i.e. 19-24. I assumed that UDP control will work like the DMX-In, where you also define a corresponding layer and where control over a channel only is possible if this channel is activated in the corresponding layer. So I started MAX and tried "LC+ UDP Desk (OSX)" on my Powerbook. I couldn't control anything at all. The log from MAX after I closed that patch: * enter otudp_free * about to close Open Transport endpoint... * ... closed Open Transport endpoint I guess that's ok. No connection errors. (of course the IP was set to the IP of the lanbox) Then I tried "LC+ UDP tx Example", but same as above. No control, same MAX log. After opening port 4777 on my powerbook and setting up the lanbox to broadcast via UDP, I tried "LC+ UDP rx Example". That one worked! The Mixer Display showed the actual status of the lanbox. I also tried without success: - a direct RJ45-connection with the lanbox (before I used a wireless LAN connection) - "of mixer" instead of "of layer" in the "UDP input settings" - to change "From sender:" to the IP of my powerbook, BUT the field only allowed to enter 192.168.1.10 instead of 192.168.1.104 (last digit couldn't be entered!!!). The LCedit+ 3.2.1 I used was installed on a Win98-machine. - I also modified the "LC+ UDP Desk (OSX)" MAX patch so that the "lcudp-pack 254" received a "1" in its 3rd input (guess that specifies layer A to use in the lanbox. On the other hand, I already specified the layer in the LCedit for the box, so I guess it's useless, even thought it's present in the "LC+ UDP tx Example"...) Well, you see, I don't understand the "lcudp-pack" MAX-Object very well, and without a help-patch it's quite difficult to figure it out, especially in my situation, where nothing happens. Ok, there's the "LC+ UDP tx Example" patch around, but with its multislider it's not very obvious, how lcudp-pack works. May someone build a patch, where you only can specify one channel and one value via one Numberbox each? That would be a great help for me... out of the dark ;) kind regards, sam
