We are still only talking about 44 micro seconds more per DMX channel :-) Have never touched the "Global setting -> DMX -> number of DMX output channels" setting.
If I'm correct, version prior to 2.03 this setting doesn't matter because LCM has a "fixed slow DMX" If you can, it's always better as the delay between channel 1 and 500 will be about 50% lower (from 43 to 23 milliseconds) For sure I will test and see what will happen to my "cheap" fixtures.
