The distributor in the UK, Enlightenment, has failed to deliver the product, despite me paying the full amount of their invoice on the same day it was received. I am still waiting!

Yeh.. distributors. That's why we don't work with distributors since many years ;-)

I downloaded the demonstration product and on my laptop, which is running a fully patched and up to date version of Windows XP Pro, the program regularly crashes when going through the Quickstart tutorial. As you can't save data with the demonstration version, I have to restart the tutorial each time, which is highly inconvenient. This number of crashes in a production environment would, in my opinion, render the product useless.

Quite different from my experience. I only had crashes on a Win2000 system without graphic controller. On two other notebooks with XP and nViDIA graphic controllers I had never any crash. What kind of graphics controller has your notebook?

Third, the documentation is very poor. I have not successfully connected my Lanbox yet, because their are, in my opinion, insufficient instructions on how to accomplish this. I am not here referring to the Lanbox specific instructions but the more generic instructions required to connect any device.

Yes, I agree. Anyway it's not difficult.
1. From the tools menu providers, right click on LanBox to enable it.
2. In the project window select universes tab. Right click inside it to create a new universe and right click to setup. In this stage the LanBox must be broadcasting, else the universes list is empty.

Lastly, the availability of generic fixtures, particularly the Strand range, is very poor. Strand fixtures are very popular in the UK and I was hoping to be able to set up my next show with Capture; it looks like this is not going to be possible.

Did you ask them?

I know WYSIWIG is considerably more expensive than Capture but I have seen it in action and the designer was able to plot almost a complete show before going anywhere near the theatre. When we got into the theatre, I was absolutely amazed at how accurate the simulation had been. Perhaps if I want that type of result I should just pay the extra money and get something that really works!

I have no experience, but I think WYSIWIG is very expensive.
