I have set up an LCX (@192.168.1.77) and an LCE (@192.168.1.78) and have the two talking to each other.
The LCX emits channels 513-1024 which the LCE receives and maps onto its own 1-512.

Realize that if you you want to pickup all your channels with e.g. Capture, you must broadcast 1-1024.

Now I can either tell the LCE to inject the values directly into the mixer, or to inject them into a layer.
I am only using the LCE as a "dumb slave" device, so which approach should I take?
Am I correct in thinking that layers will have precedence over any values injected into the mixer?

Yes, normally you should use the mixer, and it has the lowest priority. BTW The tutorial is updated with an universes chapter, see the support page on our site.

On a UI note, in LCEdit is there any whay of "selecting" an interface (to access its Global Settings tab) without having a fixture that points at it?

Seems to be difficult as so many things are related to an interface.

When can we expect 3.2.1 to be "formally" released?

I have two bugs which must be fixed, other then that, I wait to have the new MAX examples complete.
v3.2.1 also will contain an upgraded version of LCedit for Palm, all manuals are renewed / updated.

When all is complete is will be final released :-)
