Subject[LCtalk] PC + LanboxLC via Serial Cable

Houston - we have a problem -

I've been trying for some days now to establish a connection between my WinXP-pc and my LanboxLC via a PC-Mac-serial cable, but it won't work. All settings seem to be correct - my com-port on pc is configured at 38.4kb, 8-bit, par 1 no handshake - and the Lanbox firmware is up and running. And I have been able to connect the Lanbox to a Mac without any problems.
I've tried all possible combinations for connecting the Lanbox - first connecting it to my pc, then powering pc, then powering lanbox - first powering pc, then connecting, then powering lanbox - etc... but all of them without result - LCedit+ won't find the Lanbox...
And now I was wondering - don't I need a driver for the Lanbox? I thought every device you connect to your pc should have a driver installed in order to be recognised by the system...
Or could there be something wrong with the driver/settings for my COM1-port? Or what else could be the matter?
I surely do hope I can get things working - 'cause otherwise i'm afraid i'll cut a sorry figure when i have to present my project next week...

Thanx,

Patriek.
