I am currently running a major production of Jesus Christ Superstar on a PowerBook/Lanbox LCX combination and the result is stunning! As is my normal practice, I run the show on a number of layers. Specifically:- Show cue layer - T Generic/static fixtures - G Colour scrollers - S Mac 600s - M Vari*Lite VL6Cs - V Hazers/smoke machines - X Cues for the various fixtures are recorded in the appropriate layer and a note is made of the various cue numbers. Subsequent to the plotting session, the various layer cues are combined in the show cue layer 'T' to create the show cues. E.g. In layer T 1 - go 100.1 in layer G 2 - go 200.1 in layer S 3 - go 300.1 in layer M 4 - go 400.1 in layer V 5 - go 500.1 in layer X 6 - hold for ever 7 - -- 8 - -- 9 - -- 10 - go 100.5 in layer G 11 - go 400.5 in layer V 12 - hold for 3s 13 - go 300.5 in layer M 14 - hold for ever etc., etc. As with many shows, once the Director sees what can be accomplished with intelligent/moving fixtures, the plotting session time extends by several hours as new a wonderful effects are created! Having created all the actual cues in their various layers, it would be a really cool feature (and it would also save a lot of time) if it was possible to drag and drop the various layer cues onto an open cue list window, rather than having to type 'go cue number in layer XX' for each cue. So imagine a show state being created by recording a generic/static cue, a Mac 600 cue and a Vari*Lite VL6C cue. At that time in the control window, the cue numbers just recorded would be all sitting and available in the control window. Select the generic/static cue (say it's 100.15) and drag it onto step number 50 in cue list 1 (which is available in an open cue list window). Step 50 would then read simply 'go 100.15 in layer S'. The same process could be repeated for other cues. Is this a possibility for a future enhancement? John Conry
