I was thinking to connect a sensor to the inputs, does anyone have a suggestion which sensor I could use?

Well, the most simple dirty trick sensor is made with the schematic below. Use any small signal diode, a capacitor of e.g. 100nF and a resistor of 100K ohm (experiment with the capacitor e.g. up to 1uF). The audio signal should be the line output.

            --- | |
            --- | |
             | |
  -----------+----+----- 0V

This can only be used on a LCX analog input, so it's not a solution for a LCM.
